The Dandridge Scots-Irish Festival is a one day event held on Saturday, September 24, 2011. Other private functions are held in conjunction with the Festival, including a Patrons Reception and Dinner on Friday September 23rd, featuring an intimate performance by Coyote Run. In addition, two local churches will conduct special Kirking services on Sunday, September 25th to help celebrate our area's Scots-Irish heritage. THE GENERAL ORDER OF THINGS ON SATURDAY
Individual Piping competition sign-in starts at 8:30 A.M.
Highland Dance competition sign-in starts at 9:30 A.M.and 12:30 P.M.
The Street Festival and vendors open at 10:00 A.M.
Pipe Band Parade & Opening Ceremonies are at 12 noon.
Musical entertainment is continuous, from 11:15 A.M. through 6:30 P.M.
Dog Show and Parade starts at 4:00 P.M
The Evening Ceilidh starts at 6:30 P.M.
In addition to our great vendors and food purveyors, there are a lot of other activities, like a Civil War camp re-enactment, dance demonstrations, Highland athletics demonstrations, and a "jamming" tent, where musicians can meet and play.
