The Dandridge Scots-Irish Festival is a one day event held on Saturday, September 28, 2013. Other functions are held in conjunction with the Festival, including a private Patrons Reception and Dinner on Friday September 27, featuring an intimate performance by The Celtic Martins. In addition, two local churches will conduct special Kirking services on Sunday, September 29th to help celebrate our area's Scots-Irish heritage. THE BIG PICTURE
Individual Piping and Snare Drumming competition sign-in starts at 8:30 A.M.
Vendors open at 10:00 A.M.
Celtic Dance demonstrations begin at 11:30 A.M.
Pipe Band Parade & Opening Ceremonies are at 12 noon.
Musical entertainment is continuous, from 12 noon through 6:00 P.M.
Dog Parade starts at 2:00 P.M, Registration is at 1:30 P.M.
The Evening Ceilidh starts at 6:30 P.M.
In addition to our great vendors and food purveyors, there are a lot of other activities, like Clan heritage information, a Civil War camp re-enactment, dance demonstrations, Highland athletics demonstrations, and a "jamming" tent, where musicians can meet and play.
